...a guitar being regretfully sold by the owner who commissioned it's making, purely because Arthritis problems prevent him from continuing to make full use of it.
Stock Number: VTGC1060.
Really impressive guitar, which Colin Keefe was clearly very pleased to see back in his workshop, commenting on it's unbelievably good & clean condition after quite a few years, and also what a resonant guitar it is, even unplugged, of a true Les Paul weight, so you can imagine how good the plugged in sound is with those high-quality pickups installed.
Equipped with Gold hardware, including Seymour Duncan humbucker pick-ups, p/u switch, Tune-o-matic bridge & stop tailpiece....the standard configuration for the range of shaped-topped/capped bodied range of Les Paul models, including the Standard, Goldtop & Custom, but a variation also adopted by Gibson themselves on their current slab-bodied models, the "Les Paul Special Double Cut Figured Top". Quote from the current Gibson website regarding the origins of that model....."We took a 1960 Les Paul Special Double Cut and added a figured maple top, body binding, Custombuckers, and an ABR-1 bridge and stop bar setup."
The rest of the "furniture" includes Black pickup rings, matching p/u switch tip. and Top Hat 2 x Volume & 2 x Tone Control knobs, plus anodised charcoal grey colour Gotoh tuning machines, and matching front & rear strap buttons. The guitar was finished in 2006 and is no 74 in Colin Keefe's log, where the pickups are noted to be Seymour Duncan "Antiquity" humbuckers.
Dimensions:
Scale: standard Gibson length 24.75"/629mm.
Nut Width: standard Gibson 1&11/16th.inch/1.69"/42.9mm.
Weight: 9.4lbs./4.3kg.
I'm sure that the photos more than adequately show the great condition and quality looks. As confirmed above, the guitar has been checked over by Colin Keefe, himself before being offered for sale....any use marks are of the most minor nature.
