VTG LIVE & READY TO GO! - New Listing - 05/05/2017 ***

Customer's Sale, but here for inspection.

Update - 10/05/17 - Sold Quickly to Music Educator in Wiltshire.

My customer bought this guitar new about 2 years ago. Little used, it is in mint condition....I can't find a mark on it.

The Saga Music producers of Blueridge Guitars have got it absolutely right in their website write up....a classic O-sized Tenor Guitar....fits right into the "Tradtional" of Vintage & Traditional Guitars!
Stock Number: VTGC1038.

Description-wise, I really can't do better than quote from the maker's own publicity........

Edited extracts from the Saga Music website page description of the guitar:-

Blueridge BR-40T Contemporary Series Tenor Guitar.

"Blueridge has re-introduced the classic 0-sized tenor guitar in the BR-40T and has perfectly reproduced this popular model down to the last detail. An entire new generation of musicians will thrill to the bright, ringing sound of the tenor guitar and it will surely be in the forefront of new styles of folk music yet to be invented!"

"Solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped braces gives you clean articulation and a crisp tone.
Mahogany back and sides for a robust sound and resonance.
Slim mahogany neck offers fast, easy action and inherently long-lasting stability.
Choice East Indian rosewood fingerboard ensures silky smooth playability.
Nickel-plated 14:1 tuners are smooth and precise to always keep you in tune."

Action, strings & cases
The 12th. fret action is currently set at a very comfortable 2mm./2.5mm., with correct minimal playing relief in the fingerboard.

The Saga Music/Blueridge website is oddly sikent on the subjects of string gauges as supplied, and tunings, but I have read elsewhere that the fitted gauges supplied new are 10. 14, 22W & 32W, exactly those which are correct for "Standard" Tenor Guitar Tuning, CGDA, which appears to be the tuning my customer has maintained.

A link to the The Ry Cooder String-Tuning & Gauges Chart is below, and may be helpful.

There is no case included, but I see that the Saga Music/Blueridge website mentions a couple of type of suitable cases are available. Alternatively I may be able to supply a Hiscox Liteflite hardshell case, offering much better protection, but which have to be specially fitted out to take the small bodied guitar, and if I can marry the guitar to a suitable case, I will be please to agree a combined price for guitar + case.

I have a stock of guitars which is added to regularly, but some tend to take a little time to find their way through my workshop, so if you do not see what you are looking for on my website currently, please enquire - who knows, I may have just what you are looking for!

*** YOUTUBE ***

There are a few YouTube demo clips of the BR-40T and the other tenor guitars in the Blueridge range, but mainly from online retailers....I can't do better than embed the same demo also embedded on the Saga Music website, although credited to Elderley Instruments. First additional link below is another demo by Jamie Boss, who includes a potted history on the Banjo origins of the Tenor Guitar.
